CBIC Circular No. 207/1/2024-GST: Monetary Limits for Filing Appeals in Government Litigation

The CBIC has issued Circular No. 207/1/2024-GST dated June 26, 2024, concerning the reduction of Government Litigation by setting monetary limits for filing appeals or applications by the Department before GSTAT, High Courts, and the Supreme Court.

This initiative aligns with the National Litigation Policy, aimed at optimizing judicial resources and expediting case resolutions. It mandates that appeals should not be pursued for amounts below specified monetary thresholds, except in critical circumstances outlined in the Circular.
