CBIC issued Notification regarding the appointment of Common Adjudicating Authority for specific Show Cause Notices

The CBIC’s issuance of Notification No. 41/2024-Customs (N.T.) dated June 10, 2024, marks a significant development in the realm of customs adjudication, specifically concerning M/s Tyco Safety Products India Pvt. Ltd. This notification appoints a Common Adjudicating Authority under the Customs Act, 1962, to oversee various show cause notices issued to the company between 2018 and 2022.

In exercise of its statutory powers, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has designated Deputy/Assistant Commissioners from customs offices in Maharashtra and Kolkata to adjudicate these notices. Each officer is tasked with ensuring fair adjudication and compliance with customs regulations, reflecting the CBIC’s commitment to transparency and procedural integrity.
