28 May GSTN Announces Launch of E-Way Bill 2 Portal by NIC on June 1, 2024
The GSTN has issued Advisory No. 499, dated May 28, 2024, announcing the launch of the E-Way Bill 2 Portal by NIC, scheduled for June 1, 2024.
The GSTN is pleased to announce that the NIC is releasing the E-Way Bill 2 Portal (https://ewaybill2.gst.gov.in) on June 1, 2024. This new portal will run concurrently with the existing e-way bill main portal (https://ewaybill.gst.gov.in), ensuring high availability. The E-Way Bill 2 Portal will synchronize e-way bill details with the main portal within seconds. Key features of the portal include:
- Critical Services: Initially, the E-Way Bill 2 Portal will offer critical services of the e-way bill system, with plans to gradually extend to other services.
- Independent Operations: Users can generate and update e-way bills independently on the E-Way Bill 2 Portal.
- Web and API Modes: The portal supports both web and API modes for e-way bill services.
- Unified Login: Taxpayers and logistics operators can access the E-Way Bill 2 Portal using their credentials from the main portal.
- Reliability: The portal can be used during technical issues with the main portal or other emergencies.
- Criss-Cross Operations: Users can print and update Part-B of e-way bills on either portal, allowing updates to Part-B on Portal 2 for bills generated on Portal 1, and vice versa.
- Technical Backup: If the main portal is non-operational due to technical reasons, Part-B of e-way bills generated on Portal 1 can be updated on Portal 2, and both e-way bill slips can be carried.
